TV aerial - multi room.

Hi All.

I have a standard TV aerial which runs into a amp+4way splitter. The
splitter services 4 tv aerial wall sockets round the house. A while ago I
added another 'input' to the amp which carried a signal from my video and
dvd player. This worked really well and allowed me to view dvds and vcr on
any tv in the house. ( IR control via power mid RF ).

I have now got hold of a Tivo which I want to add onto the input line to
the
amp. BUT here's the problem. Until now none of the sources on the input
line has ever recorded anything. I think that connecting the 'input' of
the
video to the house aerial produces some sort of 'amplifiation loop' and the
picture becomes unwatchable.

I hope the above diagrams come out ok !

I have a new plan now but I am still hitting problems with the picture
quality of the vcr/dvd etc.

Aerial >>>--

-------				-------
-----> AMP -			----->SPLIT
-------
-------
30m			30m
->VCR->

<-DVD<-

->TIVO--10m--->

I am still getting problems. I was wondering if the distances were an
issue. I have marked them on the drawing. Basically the Amp + Splitter
are
in the attic and the VCR/DVD/TIVO are in the dining room. ( 30m ) So the
whole loop is about 70m. Do you think I need another amp on the output
from
the TIVO ? Ie before the splitter. If the TV Aerial signal out of the AMP
is much stronger than the signals produced by the VCR/TIVO could it be
swamping the VCR/TIVO signal - could that explain the grainy picture from
the VCR/TIVO ?

Any other tips for me as I am a complete coax/aerial novice........

Many thanks

Jeff
