Less cluttered if people quote them in multiple replies, less space
taken up on disk (I never delete eMail - it just moves around :P)
besides I don't like banners on websites, i don't like adverts (all for
services I'd never use and aren't available in the UK) in my eMail.

Also it would use less bandwidth the few times I do download mail when
I'm not at home (using a GSM link... those 5 extra lines in 50 messages
make a difference at 9.6k!)
