Having dabbled in both protocols ,and probably a little more with
xPL.....to me theres no major difference so im obviously not a trained
observer.....Would love to hear what working hardware has been developed
and in use for both protocols.....

xAP is one of the two Open protocols for home automation
currently "in the field".

Both xAP 1.2 (the current version of xAP) and xPL descended from xAP
1.1, but have evolved in very different directions.

Time will tell which ideas work from which... There are well-meaning,
intelligent people, supporting each. The differences between them are
seemingly indistinguishable except to the trained observer :-)
