I wouldn't have thought it would be too much of a problem, many years ago
the comms guy for the company I worked for used to have a pile of 12V
supplies in the comms rooms connected into the cat5 cable to provide power
for the fancy conference rooms phones rather than having a visible power
supply in the room.
