Be warned on getting a cheap genny if you want to run power sensitive
equipment. Unless they have some form of a voltage regulation then voltage
can drop dramatically with the loading. My 5.5KVA genny will put out 230v
at
52Hz with no load, when it's loaded to 10Amp this goes to about 215v at
51hz. If I pull 16Amps then it goes to 205v at 50Hz. Most of my stuff runs
okay on it, however things like mains power clocks end up running faster a
number of small items just don't work until the voltages get back to about
the 220v mark. Strangely enough the PC doesn't seem to care what the
voltage
is.
