RE: Re: anyone using high gain antenna or booster on their mobile?

Yup, we've got an O2 antenna in the roof void of our building, after one of
the genius's in Purchasing decided to switch contracts from Voda to 02
without testing the reception. Needless to say, we were on an O2 blackspot
(of which there are many). It took a bit of complaining (our monthly bill
is about =A314k, so not huge), but they did it in the end.=20

We're back with Voda now, but the cell is still active, it even appears on
that website (who's address escapes me) that shows all the cells plotted on
a map for each provider.

David,

If you're part of a largish company it may be worth talking to your=20
airtime provider about coverage.

These days, I'm mostly working as a telecoms consultant, and do some=20
work helping companies negotiate with mobile operators. This can be=20
about more than price.

One of my clients agreed to move to a particular airtime provider on=20
condition that they put a cell antenna on the roof of their head=20
office. The operator in question was the "corporate" division of
one=20
of the major networks... and the cell went in quite quickly :-)

Regards,

Mark
