Cool. I have an MLR GPS, but that hooks to the serial port.
globalpositioningsystems.co.uk (no affiliation, etc) sell a little GPS
'mouse' that connects via USB (they do a serial ver too). It's something
about the same size as a matchbox that sticks very well to the roof of a
car, and has a small amount of waterproofness. It can only be used on a
computer though, as it has no interface of any kind. Perfect for
routeplanning/wardriving with a lappy though :)
As for an external antenna, if its just for in car use, a little 10quid
jobbie from solwise (www.solwise.co.uk, again, no affiliation). This is
about 10cm high and has a magnetic base. CAble is a little short though.
Obv, with an external antenna and the slight gainit gives, it'll increase
your range/signal pickup quite considerably.

A WEP node (W) is one that has WEP enabled, obviously ;)
A closed node () is one that you can associate with, maybe, but can't get
any further. A node locked down by mac address or by a firewall would be
closed.
An open node )(.. rocks lol.
BTW, where in the UK are you, and do you have a consume node? :)
