We came to the same conclusion.
The PPC route just isn't 'mature' enough for fulltime remote use for us
yet.

Looks like I'll be spending the weekend with Tonto and the ProntoEdit
emulator now ;-)

PPC with IR booster is a fun thing to do, and if you already have the PPC
you can emulate a Pronto Pro for very little outlay.

However, if you are wanting to buy a Remote that will always be in your
room, with great battery life etc, buy a Pronto every time.
