Apparently you're not supposed to move the NTE5, but a _friend_ of mine
has moved loads of them and he hasn't been charged yet. ;-)
Keith - have you ever heard of anything actually being done regarding
non BT persons moving NTE5's?

Yes - I saw this too.
I don't think I need the ADSL internal extension bit as I moved the
master socket up to Node0 anyway - is that legal? ;)

Or try using the faceplate "with hardwiring modification"

I've never used one of the modified units, but by the description you
shouldn't need to terminate the link to the router/modem with a plug
into the front of the faceplate. Instead you can connect the data cable
into the back alongside the filtered telephone connection. It's a bit
more expensive but gives a tidier job if your router/modem isn't local
to the master socket.
