IR Distribution system.

Apologies for the barrage of questions today!!

While I am looking at wiring for the new house I would like to put in
the basics of a zoned IR system.

Can anyone make some recommendations as to what is required in terms
of wiring, is cat 5 okay and what are my options for the different
bits of the system??

I am looking for something stand alone (non PC based) that needs to
allow for maybe 8 zones and about 8-10 bits of kit
