Will be using the colour tape approach at work.
5 blades of 48 ports a cisco 4500 chassis.

You don't necessariliy need to be unique in the coding or use too
many different bands/colours, as it's fairly obvious by the direction
the cables run which is which if 2 or 3 have the same code.

Using some different coloured cable halves the problem again, at a
slightly higher cost obviously.

The guys we use for longer runs, pull in groups of 16's with masking
tape and permanent marker numbers on them, as it's only needed to
make light working of the termination.
