Michael

1. Run Server version
2. Yes mine is 254 - I tried changing it to 1 which doesn=92t seem to make
any difference.
3.My IP address is 127.0.0.1 under Cgate properties - I think that has
to stay like that as that=92s means self machine - like localhost ? -
Kevin will probably know better.
When I click on Networks file, I'm via Serial Port

Cgate works as a program, but the way it displays on a remote display,
i.e. Webpad, PDA etc. is by sending a jpg snapshot of the screen on your
server PC, this then has a map over the top to work out where you click.
You have to ensure you have the jph compression set to nothing other
wise everything that gets displayed looks a bit pants.

As a bit of software it works great, and I look forward to getting into
it and using my web and photoshop skills to come up with some nice
interfaces for this and my C-Touch. I just believe there could have been
a better way of implementing it than big JPG images. Speed is ok on a
PDA via WiFi, but over the net or trying to send 1024x768 images over a
network is not going to be great.

Dean.

Hi Dean,
=20
As understand it, the CNI is just a version of the PC Interface with a
TCP/IP interface rather than RS-232. I have checked the network.txt
file and it seems to have the correct details. Sorry to do this to you,
but I've got a few questions that might help me out:
=20
1. Do you run the "server" version or "console" version
of C-Gate?=20=20
2. What "C-Bus network number" do you use (I'm using 254 I
think)? 3.
What settings do you have in HomeGate for the connection (under Program
Options from memory)? Do you use an IP address? What port numbers do
you use? Do you use the default settings?
=20
Thanks a lot for this - it will be great to get it working!=20=20
=20
Why do you say that HomeGate is not that great? I've only had a quick
play but it seems like it should be able to do everything I need
(lighting, blinds, switched power and AV control). I will be using it
through a ViewSonic V110 smartdisplay and I'm hoping that it will form
one of the primary controls for the house (although I have Neo switches
around the place as well).

Regards,

Michael.
