Many thanks for the tip. I spent 20 minutes yesterday messing with the
alignment of the two units, and I now have a vastly improved signal -
even with my WiFi AP running right next to it!

While I don't have that exact unit, I have a 2.4GHz video sender from
the Homebase clear outs ages ago.
Have you tried turning the ariels round a bit so they're better aimed at
each other ?
