RE: Loftbox users?

The only reason to connect the dish via the loft box is so that you then
only need to run a single co-ax from the loft box to the 'living room'
where
the Sky box, telly and FM receiver (and DAB) are located. You then use a
'Tri-Plexer' on the wall behind the telly to split the 3 signals out to the
various equipment.

If your SKY+ box is located elsewhere I see no advantage of routing the Sat
dish IF signal via the Loftbox...

On a separate point, I understand that Sky now install a Quad LNB with
SKY+.
I have a QUAD LNB fitted to the new house being built, I do not have Sky +
as I am a TiVo man, and have routed all four outputs directly to node 0 so
that I can connect multiple Sky Boxes. I have two receivers at the
moment....

No, it's just because as I understand it, that's the way the loftbox is
meant to be wired.... with every input signal (including satellite) going
to
an input on the loftbox...

See the diagram here....

However, the loftbox of course predates Sky+, and so only expects to deal
with 1 sat feed...
