IR repeater - Hotlink pro ?

All my AV equipment is about to dissapear into my faux chimney breast.

I therefore need to be able to get at them with IR - does anyone use a
Hotlink Pro

If so does it work well ?? - or is there a better alternative ??

Also would placing the IR receiver behind a Slimp perspex screen have a
detrimental effect on its receiving capability
