Kevin,
We had a couple of quotes recently, for 65m plus a tiny bit of cladding.
Estimates were 5-6 days for 3-4 guys and all up was just over the 4-grand
mark (cheapest) up to around 4.5k with an additional 1k in case all the
mortar collapsed under the gable end (I think) tiles. The first guy costed
on a GBP 55 / linear meter basis. 21m would equate to ~1.2k all in.
If you've got a Screwfix "Big Stuff" catalogue you can price the
materials yourself, although when I did it, materials alone came to the
cost of the quotes.
Incidentally, when we had our hedges butchered, <cough> I mean
trimmed :-/, these guys offered to do it for 1200. Go figure :-)
We haven't got anybody to do it yet, we reckon getting someone in to paint
every couple of years will be cheaper :-)
HTH,
Tim H.

All,
Apologies if this is slightly off-topic, but it does affect the routing of
a couple of telephone and aerial cables ;-)
Does anyone have an approximate idea of how much it should cost to replace
existing wooden fascias, soffits and guttering with PVCu (complete
replacement rather than cladding)? The length is about 21 metres, but I
have quotes varying from GBP 1,000 to 2,000 (including labour and VAT
etc..).
Cheers,
Kevin Meynell
