Re: C-Bus and Wire-wound transformers - HELP

This would have been easy to do around 9 months ago when we were doing
the fabric of the building. Unfortunately, at that time, the lighting
supplier's advice was that 6-metre runs and 300VA transformers should be
fine. Re-wiring now to bring extra feeds to the middle of the 6-metre
runs would be a royal pain. We've done our best to conceal the wiring to
preserve the barn as close as possible to its original state, and
there's no way we could run concealed wiring now. And trying to tuck
away any sort of wiring more than 5 metres off the floor, halfway up the
ceiling would not be easy, especially as the carpenters are now in the
middle of installing the oak floors below.

Anyway, I have now tried 3 different wire-wound transformers, including
one resin-coated, and they all have the same problem to different
degrees. As far as I can see, the solution is to use electronic
transformers, and thanks to this list, I now have several options to try
on that front. Unfortunately, the lighting supplier is moving like
treacle in following up the leads I have given them. Thanks to all for
your suggestions, anyway.

Cheers,

Bruno
