RE: Pressure Sensor on toilet seat
Maplin do a beam break which whilst not ideal may give you some ideas. I
use one of these in my kitchen and the LEDs can be remote mounted to hide
away the electronics. Just replace the buzzer with a reed relay type
switch and you're there.

I thought about this again. Maybe it is the best option. A pressure sensor
could be a bit of a germ trap if wires are required.
Do you have much info about beam setups that you can share - perhaps a
pilot
project?
