Hi,
Sorry its taken a while to respond, I work a funny shift pattern, and
work around a lot.
Thats one of the reasons for 'automating' my van.
I have a couple of old compaq proliant servers at home, and run
pretty much as much as i can through them (ps ones for sale if anyone
interested).
Most of my work is on these servers too, but as anyone who works from
home can tell you, its pretty boring after a while.
At the moment, I have a small laptop in the van, and run all the
engine management etc through various bits of software through the
laptop. also, all the curtains in the van are run through it, and
also a small tv tuner, gps and dvd/vcd player.
what i ultimately want to do is make the van into a mobile office,
with the capability of 'hooking' into my home system.
that way , i can go out somewhere nice in the van, park up, and work
>from
cat, alter the aircon at home, set the system to record tv programs
etc, just by linking in.
vice-versa, i can be working in my home, and decide to go out....i
can send info to the van, alter the aircon, and even start the
engine, so its ready as soon as i get into it. (van in a big garage,
at bottom of long garden!)

maybe one day?

regards
Rob
