I'm kinda curious as well.   Surely HA encompasses remote switching as much
as anything else.
The definition of remote for me is any distance between 1cm and infinity

a start.   Real HA/Intelligence would have temp sensing in the room and the
bed to determine if the blanket needed turning on at all!  With all the
sophisticated hardware that's being developed out there by you guys, is
there not a solution for these poor Which readers??
