Dan I use a Plantronics DSP headset which is quite good - it does noise
cancelling and plugs into USB, has a mute button built in. It's a lot
easier when travelling as well because you can do conference calls and type
at the same time (the whole headset kind of folds up as well for
portability)... The caller ID functions get handled by the Cisco IP
softphone v.1.3(2a)... Marc Message: 8

Subject: USB phone interface and personal gateway

Hi all,

Anyone know a good USB phone adapter (to connect a regular/cordless
phone to a PC and use it for VoIP calls).
I need some basic features like:
- support for some soft SIP phones. like SJPhone or X-Lite (or other
FWD and H.323 standard compatible)
- ring on handset when a call is received
- answering the call by picking up the handset
- echo-cancellation
- caller-id support

What I need too is a PCI card to be used as a personal gateway between
Internet calls and local PSTN line.

Thank you,
Dan
