Hi Frank,
CAN bus is high speed. On most passenger cars it runs at 500Kbps for the
engine management etc. Not HIGH SPEED as in ethernet type speeds, but by
simple serial protocols it is high speed compared to the likes of
RS232.RS485 etc. With the short packet size you can squeeze a lot of
messages onto the bus.
I am currently (no pun intended) writing the software for the monitor in
between upgrading my system with a new 120Gb drive and getting my Fuji
working again with its new hard drive and finally the parallel port can bus
interface. Too many projects not enough time+ACEAIQAhACE- Sound familiar?
