We actually get two different bills

Water comes from Suffolk and Essex Water Co ( or whatever they are called
now )

Sewage taken away by Anglian Water.

Several years ago, Suffolk & Essex offered me the option to have a
water
meter installed and kindly included a leaflet to help you calculate the
charges besed on Low/Med/High water consumption.

My house is a small 2 bedroom terrace with a low rateable value. It is
occupied by 2 adults and one child who all bathe regularly, have lots of
dirty clothes, and a shiny white box in the the corner of the kitchen where
you hide dirty plates that after some whirring and clonking noises come out
nice and clean.

A quick read of the leaflet revealed that....

a. Rateable Value was LOW
b. Water Consumption was VERY HIGH
c. Even at the bottom end of the scale we would have been paying MORE !!!!

So I kindly declined their kind invitation :-)
