Hi all,

Having watched with interest recent threads about temp. /
humidity sensors and alike a thought struck me. We have
a system that encompasses most of the I/O which I have
seen discussed recently with the ability to handle much
more. With a bit of work this could be made into a range
of bits suitable for general use.

The questions that spring to mind are ;

- Are there any particular protocols people use ?
Are people using XAP ? I don't know anything
about comfort etc, is there a standard ?

- What physical presentation would be required ?
(RS232/RS485/Ethernet/X10/Other ?)

- Are people intending to rewire between I/O
points around the building ? i.e. is something
a single Cat5 run with I/O drops along it prohibitive
because of the wiring ?

- What is your hearts desire in the way of modules ?
(Obvious ones already discussed seem to be digital
inputs / outputs, temp, humidity)

and the biggie I s'pose is ;

- is there actually any widespread interest in something
like this or are people actually happy with what they
already have ?

I'm happy for people to email me directly if they'd
prefer.

Regards

Mark.
