You can build uyour own interface in les than a half an hour.
It cost you less than 5EURO.
Use the schematic at:
http://www.laser.com/dante/irman/irremote.htm#Hardware

(only the part from the left of the connectors).

P.S. That plugin cannot be used with an USB interface or an USB to Serial
converter.
