Yeah, if it's a standard consumer VCR, then you can put a TV ariel into
it, and use it as a tuner.

Switching.... if the projector has an Svideo in and a composite in, then
you could connect DVD to Svideo and VCR to composite, means no hassle
with an external switcher, assuming the projector will easily remote
switch sources etc.

Otherwise you're looking at either a standard scart switch to take the
VCR and DVD (make sure it supports RGB!) and have that terminate into
SVideo, or you're looking at getting both into SVideo and using an
SVideo switcher.
