You could do a lot worse than visit these guys:

The HTML Writer's Guild. I found that really useful when I was learning.
Beyond that, the O'Reilly guide to HTML is (of course) one of the best you
can get.

As an aside, the best editor (imo) to use for raw HTML editing is Notetab
Pro: http://www.notetab.com It's like
notepad on Steroids, and has really
useful features for html editing.

Remember, as well that simply clicking "view source" on a webpage
you like
can give you ideas and clues on how to do cool things!
