If anyone is annoyed (as I was) that the remote hasn't got a facilty
to remotely switch the xbox on and off, take a look here:

I can confirm that this circuit works well...the only 'problematic'
bits are you need a PIC programmer and a TSOP1838. I got my TSOP1838
of Keith Doxey. I don't know if he still has any spares though.
