Tony,

>From what I read, I thought it was basically a free box and dish (and
no
subscription) on the proviso
that you paid =A3100-120 for the installation. No install - no box.

It just seems a sneaky back door attempt by Sky to deflect people from
getting DTT Freeview boxes.

Or maybe not :(
1. Go into your local dixons (yes folks, I'm afrad this is an offline
experience!)
2. Pick up a Sky brochure and look at the back.
It says, in essence, "FREE minidish and digibox. a subscription to
sk=
y
is
not necessary" and "See instore for details"
3. Have a look at the terms and conditions page where it tells you that
installation WITH a sub is =A3100, or =A3120 WITHOUT a sub.
4. Just for kicks, watch one of the in-store ads on a lovely plasma scree=
n
there. Note the ad for Sky plus which, in essence, says "FREE
minidish
and
digibox. a subscription to sky is not necessary" and "See
instore for
details"
5. Now try to find a shop assistant who a) understands the difference
between "Free dish and box" and "Free installation".
6. When you find one, try to find one that will actually sell you this
deal :(

Seems that even though the leaflets say it, even though the video ad in
store
says it, the bar stewards actually do not sell this service.

If this were an online ad, the Reg et al would have a field day with
it.....
