That's the beastie! I knew someone would get it.

I have now moved my cable etc up into the loft and all is working, which in itself is amazing.

I have even moved my widescreen up there as well, NOTHING in the living room now! great, I will have a bit of time cleaning the house....that's enough....then start demolishing the living room and make space for a home cinema, the living room is about 8 metres long and about 5 wide, anyone know any phone numbers of those women builders on that drink advert where those lads go on holiday and their hotel is next to the building site? "probable the best lager in the world"

Almost - in my case, its an attenuator (the opposite of an amp) to help
present the correct signal strength to the cable modem.
