Skirting Level lighting

I have now reached the stage on the home removation where I am 
planing the total remodleing of upstairs. I have so far taken out all 
the walls and currently planing the lighting control.

Does anybody know of any small lighting that could be placed at 
skirting board level ? I am looking to have a switch matrix either 
side of the bed (just like hotels) that contorl all the lights in the 
bedroom and en-suite, including some low level lights to light the 
way to the loo at night.

I had though of using a transformer and 12v lamps, but have yet to 
find any nice looking holders.

All this will of course be X10 controlled.

Any help much appriciated.
