I thought as much. Unfortunately the
PC it
sits on appears to be “allergic” to my niece, as I often get
calls
telling me “the ‘Internet’s’ not working”,
but
only ever from her. My explanation that the entire Internet is unlikely to
be
conspiring against her tend to fall on deaf ears…
I’ll see how it goes, and if it
becomes a problem, I’ll get hold of a WET11, unless anyone can
recommend
anything else?
If anyone gets a chance to get hold of
one
of these things (Laserjet 4600), they certainly are overkill in a domestic
setting,
but a breath of fresh air when you are used to an inkjet. The main
differences
to inkjets are speed – 17ppm colour – and the fact that you can
print out photo quality on cheap crappy paper…

Ethernet
or parallel printer interace?
T he main
advantage
other than a possible slight increase in speed is that you're not dependant
upon the PC working to use the printer, if the pc crashes or if
someone
turns it off by mistake you can still print.
The wet11 would seem the obvious
solution
but at $120 not cheap & not sure how available they
are
An HP Laserjet 4600 (17ppm colour) printer has
just
fallen off the back of an order (not cheap at 1200 quid, but the same
features
would have cost 5 grand a year ago, and this one is
free).
