Is there anywhere we can look for more info about this? product
recommendations? what plugs into where.... how to align etc....
I have lucent Orinoco cards and couple of APs and fancy a dabble but
don't know where to start/exactly what to buy (I can do the networking
part!).

Cheers,

MW

In a recent post on UKHA_Buy, the following statement was made about
802.11b Wi-Fi compliant PCMCIA cards.
"With 24 dbi antennas at both ends, I have gone 8 miles with no
problems"

Work to home is about 6 miles. At work I have a not particularly fast
but "always-on" internet connection (Tele2). No adsl is currently
available at home so I'm on dial up, not surprisingly I'd prefer to
be always on. Currently I have no wireless networking. Might it be
possible to link home & work via wireless LAN? How? What kit needed?
Rough cost? Is it legal? Do I need uninterupted line of sight?

Any help/advice appreciated.

Nick
