RE: Neat ideas for Toilet Ventilation - Motion Detection

Hi Chris,

I visited a house here in NZ recently that had Panfan's installed - I am sold on them and will be using them in our house to be built.

Anyway - I don't have any other ideas re. the detection, but I can tell
you about the panfan setup I saw.  First it was reliable in terms of detection.  The sensors which I assume were narrow beam PIR's or
ultrasonic detectors were mounted about stomach height when seated on
the throne.  In all cases the WC was in close proximity to a wall
perpendicular to the rear of the WC - if you get what I mean.  Unless<= BR> the panfan detectors are really overpriced I imagine you wouldn't get
much milage out of an HV solution unless you were keen to monitor how
often the facility was used or when it was in use :-)
