Re: FirM uPdate + Zone Rx Unit Photos

Hi Dan
It was designed to give Multizone Transmission and Multizone Reception for Homevision at an affordable price (hopefully). Yes Cat5 is used to for the tx and rx signals, the tx signal is also available at the controller to use if located at node 0 and some of your kit is installed there..
Basically Homevision tells my controller which Zone to send the ir signal to (signal from hv) and my unit informs Homevision which Zone the received signal came from...Only 1 Zone receiver can be active at any given time . When a receive signal is being processed a busy led (red) on each zone receiver lites up to indicate to users in different zones that the unit is busy and wait until previous signal is processed..before sending an ir signal..

Hi Frank,

Looked at the piccies and looks pretty cool.  Could you give us a quick rundown of what the project intends to do - I must have missed out along the way (I was on hols for 2 months!).  IR over Cat5 ? ... couldn't find any project description on your site

Thanks,
-Dan

Hi All
Have built and tested several Zone Receivers and all seems ok . Tomorrow will hopefully send two systems over to the other side of the pond to be tested ,so hopefully in 4 to 6 weeks there will be some feed back on how the units are performing........fingers crossed....I suppose its better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all..........

I have put some pics on my site if anyone is interested in having a look. www.users.bigpond.com/armagh/

Also the units will be a little bit dearer as i decided to get someone else to machine the boxes as i dont have the time to do all unfortunetly..And havnt decided yet wether to engrave the Controller boxes or silkscreen ,depends on cost...............

More Soon
