It's not a true FAT32 - you cant read
it properly in a PC
All you need to do is bung in a new
disk, and run the system reset

The software update IIRC will
allow the simultaneous recording of two channels. At the moment you can
watch one, record one but you can’t record two, although the hardware
is perfectly capable of doing so.
From what I’ve read HD
replacement
is simple as the disk is just a FAT32 formatted IDE HD.

True, (currently*), but as there's only me & SWMBO, there's very little
disagreement about what to watch anyway (basically, I have banned ALL
soaps!), so the ability to record one channel whilst watching another is
more than enough to cope with our viewing habits...
* wasn't there a post on here a few months ago suggesting that a rumoured
software update was set to allow the Sky+ boxes to use its 2 tuners to
watch
2 sky channels in different locations? - anyone know anything about
this?

I'm hopeful that I will feel the same way in a couple of weeks! (I'm not
having it installed for a few weeks, until the kitchen building work is
finished...)
