This is what I'm trying to find out right now...

I'm about to set up two links, one around 500m and one around 1000m. I plan to buy four linksys wap11, and I've been thinking about buying fab-corps "24dBi Die Cast Directional Antenna". I have three questions, though. Is there any chance I might get a "too good signal" with this antenna? What kind of cabling, pig-tail thingy do I need to connect the enclosed "24 inch pigtail w/N Type Female" cable? Is it wise to make that cable longer? 24 inches is only around 60 cm which will force me to weatherproof and mount the linksys on the roof..

Would appreciate help very much, my neighbours are in a hurry to get this fixed so I would very much enjoy to make it right the first time

All

Anyone know if you can get directional (or better than omni) antennae for netgear access points ?

Need to get a pair set up as a bridge for 500m or so - cutting it a bit fine with omni antennae
