I have the same Sony DVD changer, with MR mod & the S-video is black & white
also - so I don't use this connection.

That is exactly what I plan to do (connect via KAT5) so I would
certainly be using the s-video connection. However I am already doing
that with a single disk player (old Pioneer) and the picture is fine.
Does anyone know whether this is a Sony problem?
