I have such a case (don't know if it is Cubid) and it works fine - after
some modifications.

The problem is in 240Vac->12Vdc adapter. In my case, it only has two wires
going from adapter to the case meaning that the case is not earthed and that
caused unstable picture when viewed throgh composite output. I installed
third wire and now everything works fine.
