Homeseer etc vs Homevision

Thanks for all your advice as to whether I should go for homevision or a pc/cm12/homeseer(etc) set-up. I'm still a little undecided, so perhaps if I describe what I'm looking for in a bit more detail then someone can put me straight?

  1. I probably wouldn't use hv's video output
  2. I have a number of PC's on my network, always on
  3. In addition to the standard X10 stuff, I would like to use IR distribution to control tv's/hifis etc and I also would like IO/Relay control
  4. I would like to use speech synthesis (texttospeech stuff)
  5. I would like to use voice control (any experiences)
  6. I don't mind programming my own stuff.
  7. I'll probably write a fair bit of add on software (to control my media server for example)
  8. I don't mind paying the price for hv, but can its interfacing capabilities be matched using separate pieces of kit, if so which ones
  9. Does homeseer work with hv ?

I really am in turmoil over this one - any help deeply appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Mally.
