Unfortunately it's fashionable to spot an obvious mistake, try to take
advantage of it, and then scream "but we had a 
contract".

This is generally done with complete ignorance of UK law. For example, how
many on the internet realise that trying to purchase something when
genuinely believing that an error has been made in the pricing is, in fact,
attempted fraud, and prosecution could result?

Doing the decent thing and realising that everyone makes mistakes is, alas,
alien to the mind-set.
