Guys

I've been speaking some more to one of the US suppliers, and finally
agreed
that the easiest way is for them to send me a 'sample' (that I'm still
paying USD200 + shipping for) so we can check out the plug and any
other
potential issues.  they've agreed to take it back if there's a
problem.

It should be here within 5 days, so I'll be able to report on things
pretty
soon.  In the meantime, they're still working on various shipping
quotes, so
I'll also have a fairly firm cost within a couple of days.

I've asked them to mark the parcel as a 'sample' - does that have any
implications when it gets assessed for duty/VAT?

Anyway, I'll keep you posted....

PS I really need a 240v -> 24VDC 400ma charger - anyone got one handy
that I
could borrow to get the thing charged up? Interchangeable plugs would
be
r-e-a-l-l-y handy!
