GPS advice.....

.... as this seems to be the best place for GPS advice.....!

I want to have basic GPS mapping functions. I have a laptop which is
suitably sized and battery lifed for most of the trips I do. I've heard on various previous searches that there are issues with the combination of Windows XP, USB GPS and Autoroute. I'm planning to use MS MapPoint
2002 (its included in MSDN so it's free to me to all intents and
purposes), and the laptop only has a USB port, no serial without a
docking station.

Can anyone recommend anything reasonably cheap (circa =A3100) that'll work =
with XP, USB and MapPoint?
