My projector has a special slidy lens mechanism which allows the
image to be shifted sideways, as well as keystone correction (I think
that's what it's called?) to compensate for a non-perpendicular
delivery. It's an NEC VT45, and I see no noticeable distortion on an
image shifted about 18" left of centre.
