I don't know what the newer "heatpipe" boxes are like, but I had problems
with my shuttle SV25.
I put in a Celery 1Gig and used Intel's own fan in preference to the shuttle
one - this is higher profile, but lower noise and at the time, I didn't need
the PCI slot so it didn't matter that the fan blocked it.
In a smallish room, not especially confined, it might last a day before
giving up.
Bung in a Via C3 800 meg, same fan, no problems.
Bung back in the celery and use the shuttle noisy small fan and no problems.
Has been running 24/7 for about a month now with noisy shuttle fan and
celery processor.
This peeves SWMBO off no end as we are temporarily in the spare bedroom next
to the shuttle room and can hear it at night.
May move it to node0 soon, though that is quite a small space and a bit warm
(amp, sky box, dvd etc etc there) so I dunno what will happen to it then...
