Both Xantech and Buffalo have +V, Signal and ground.

Xantech has bare wires, Buffalo has little screw down terminals.

They both appear to have *some* electronics, but I can't see because they're inside a brass tube.  They have talkback LEDs so it may just be for that?

  units.....Do they have any electronic in side other than an ir receiver???
  For instance are the connections as follows

  +12v
  signal
  gnd
  What type of connector  is used???
