The range of the sensors are -55 to 125 degrees C precision is plus or
minus half a degree. There will be Dallas DS1820 or DS18S20 1-wire
devices
on the end.

It terms of length you can get 1-wire to work over up to 200 metre
length
but to get much above 25m you'll need to ensure that you have a
reliable
1-wire network.  The link below is a pdf that details different method
of
making it reliable.  The easiest method has got to be to tie the 1
wire
line to +5v with a 2200ohm resistor.  Others include strapping a
capacitor
across the 1-wire and ground with a resistor in series. 
Experimentation is
best.

Hello,

Has anyone had any experience of these? Are they any good? I'm trying
to find out two things: the range and the precision of the unit. I
read the pdf file on their web site and I think it says that the
precision is to the nearest 0.5 degree C. I suppose that's good
enough, but what about the range. What is the minimum temperature it
will record  and what is the maximum? I couldn't find this out and
an
email to the company resulted in them sending me the same pdf back!
