Paul,

It's actually fairer to say that Americans know little about ISDN
compatability. There are LOTS of subtely different presentations of ISDN
available, and each US telco seems to do is subtly differently.

The upshot of this is that, in most products, when you configure them for
the first time, one of the questions you have to answer is "which
ISDN?" The list of which versions of ISDN a piece of kit supports is
standard, and most US companies should be used to giving out the
answer.

Tim Morris gave me some good advice recently about his ISDN PBX 
(Siemens Gigaset 4175). Looks like a good product but not available 
in the UK (Of course BT don't do it!). He bought his from Germany 
and the only incomaptibility is the German voice when interrogating 
remotely.

Ideally I'd like an English voice (or I suppose I could learn 
German!!!). I think the product is available in the USA (with 
English voice) but know nothing about ISDN compatibility - Do they 
have the same system or something completely different? (I guess 
there's a clue in the term "Euro ISDN"?)

Any thoughts?
