Thanks. I guess I'm used to buildings of signficantly "lighter" construction.

Regards,
Mark

test it?

Hi,

Just a simple example... in a concrete building the 802.11b is as good as... nothing...for me
I cannot operate a peer-to-peer 802.11b network even at the same floor  because of the walls.
The X10 devices work in all the apartments of the building connected to the same phase.

This is the main reason.
I almost can say that the low power Bluetooth with a theoretical range of 10m works better that 802.11b in the same conditions.
(tested by me with an iPaq H3870 - Bluetooth integrated and a notebook with a Bluetooth USB Mitsumi adapter).

BR,
Dan

Out of interest, in a world where 802.11b networks are the same price as powerline, where's the actual usage for these?
