Umar,

You have my sympathy - that can't have been a very nice experience at
all... 

The only CCTV type stuff I have any real knowledge of are the Axis web
cameras (they have a built in webserver) The aren't cheap but have the
abitily to be mounted to motorised poles, motorised zoom and external 
housings. The plus side is that you just provide power and a cat5 cable ...

I haven't really tested under night-time conditions and as you have no
street lighting you may find it too dark. 

I have seen installations where the cameras are internal looking
outside
and the quality isn't too bad. You can also download a free activex
that
will allow you to develop your own software.
